Today, I won't pretend to make interior design more important than it is. The events in Connecticut cut our country to it's core. Everyone is shaken and my prayers are with those affected.
My hope is that this master bedroom e-design might add a slight piece of beauty to your weekend.
My client lives in Tennessee, recently had her walls painted, and wants to keep her current black furniture. She loves neutrals but was feeling like the room was a bit too dark. My solution is to add more white, a few patterns, and some details to the drapes.
To start, I found these beautiful, vintage, botanical pages on Etsy that I would like to have framed in white as a gallery around her television.
I'm recommending she paint her long brown dresser with white enamel paint and change the hardware.
Honestly, I can't decide which fabric I like the most in this mix. I'm a huge fan of buffalo check. These pillows add a bit of femininity to this dark room without being too frilly. The bed would be covered with an ivory quilt that can easily be thrown in the washer. Instead of a bed skirt I'm recommending she cover her box spring with the same buffalo check fabric that's on the pillows.
I was inspired by these drapery treatments:
I'm recommending simple, white linen drapes with ribbon stripes.
Here it is all put together. I think it's peaceful and relaxing while still looking finished and put together.
