I have officially been blogging about interior design for a year.
Naturally, I look very glamorous, put together, have stylish rings, and am surrounded by pillows and books as I type. ;-) In reality, I'm sitting at a desk surrounded by chaos and little boys and taking a sip of iced coffee whenever possible.
I'm still considering getting my boys shirts that say this!
I'm taking a short trip down memory lane, because it's been a big year, and hopefully it may inspire you to try something new when you've been holding back.
My first post, last October, featured one of my favorite designers.
I went back to school for a class on "the fundamentals of design" and created this dream board for the living room in our old house. I say "dream board" because I knew the pieces would never be our reality, but the assignment had no budget. YAY!
My very first clients completed my e-design vision for their daughters nursery. It was, and still is amazing to see something I dreamed in my head become a reality.
March was the start of my little company: M. Interiors.
I'm still pinching myself.
We moved into our new house in April and I've been making changes ever since.
I was interviewed and published in a
furniture company's quarterly magazine.
One of my clients got that call that they would be
filmed for House Hunters on HGTV.
When I was putting together this post my eyes actually got misty with emotion. If you write a blog or own your own business you know that it is so much work and sacrifice. I think of quitting often!
But when you love what you do you just can't stop.
My life and this season is a huge gift. And to you, I am thankful. My surprising friendships that have grown from blogging are the best highlight of all.
My biggest piece of advice?
